Clear Aesthetic / Ceramic Braces

Fixed and Removable Retainers

Once you've achieved your beautiful smile, it’s time to maintain it for life!

After finishing your main orthodontic treatment of Braces your new smile will still require some maintenance. Not only do teeth have a tendency to move back to their original positions, natural age changes in your lips, cheeks and gums may cause the teeth to shift over time.

Retainers...

Retainers are appliances worn to prevent teeth from shifting back to their original positions and retain your teeth in their new position

Removable Retainers...

These are commonly used for the upper and lower teeth. They are made from hard plastic and may occasionally have a wire running across the teeth. They are removed for eating, sports and when cleaning your teeth.

Fixed Retainers...

Certain teeth are at a greater risk of moving after orthodontic treatment. This is due to their poor initial position before orthodontic treatment. Upon completion of treatment, a fixed retainer may be needed to secure the teeth in place. This is a small, discreet wire glued to the back of the teeth and can be left in permanently.

Clear Retainers...

This is one of the most common retainers for the upper front teeth as they are clear and can be worn during the day as well as during sleep. Clear retainers ensure that the treated teeth will not shift position after Orthodontic treatment.

Banded Retainers...

After orthodontic treatment, Banded Retainers may be needed to secure the teeth in place. These are glued to the back of the teeth and can be left in permanently.
